The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the civilian component of Team Coast Guard.
This year we will be celebrating the 70 year anniversary of it's founding. Originally founded in 1939 by an Act of Congress as the US Coast Guard Reserves and re-designated the Auxiliary in 1941. It is the largest all volunteer organization in the world. The 38,000 volunteer members (men and women) volunteer more than 2 million hours annually to benefit other boaters and their families. Auxiliary members, after receiving special training, assist the Coast Guard in non-law enforcement programs such as public education, vessel safety checks, safety patrols, search and rescue, maritime security and environmental protection and Coast Guard Academy introduction programs for youth.
The Auxiliary has had a presence in Napa for 44 years. We, in Flotilla 52 provide Vessel Safety Checks, conduct Public Education classes and perform Safety Patrols on local waterways.
Our Flotilla meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month in Napa, California. Member of the public is invited to attend our meetings, and new members are always welcomed. To contact members of our Flotilla by email regarding questions about USCG Auxiliary and our various programs, please use the 'Contact Information' link on the left.
